Lowcountry Mosaics
By: April  Whitt
I am a very outdoorsy person and the need for permanent art
drew me closer to mosaics.
I was born and raised in the beautiful
Lowcountry of Beaufort, S.C. Surrounded by endless islands and
pristine waters. I grew up around the shrimping industry, which
was my family tradition.  They say you spend the first half of
your life trying to get away and the second half trying to get
back home.  Beaufort will always be my home but it's not my time
yet.

We all need to do our part by recycling and conserving what we
already have.
We have so many renewable sources at our finger
tips, why not use what we already have and quit taking what has
given us life.
I have always tried to figure out how to recycle bits
and pieces that are otherwise discarded. It also fuels my feverish
addiction for making trash into treasure. I use mainly glass,
junk jewelry, seashells, pottery, beer caps, basically anything
that grabs my eye.
